The Democratic Alliance is looking for a Junior Data Scientist to support the work of the Campaigns, Ground War, and Research Department. This is a fixed-term role based in Cape Town, ideal for someone with strong technical skills and a passion for data-driven political strategy.

Responsibilities

• Assist analysts with research conception, analysis, and reporting in line with the Party’s strategic objectives
• Build and manage data collection systems, including data cleaning and preprocessing
• Conduct exploratory data analysis and develop regression and machine learning models
• Validate models and integrate AI tools and external APIs as needed
• Design and maintain data visualisations, reports, and dashboards for internal stakeholders

• Experience managing data systems

• Programming: Python, JavaScript
• Databases: SQL and database management
• Tools: Microsoft 365, Microsoft Graph API
• Environments: Linux and server management
